Duncan McHugh

Duncan McHugh is a radio expert. No, not marine radios, more like the musical kind. Aside from being a long-time club member (relatively speaking), Duncan hosts a weekly radio show on UBC's CiTR 101.9 FM airing Thursdays at noon. Listen live and check the podcast for missed episodes here.

UBC: How long have you been sailing?

Duncan McHugh: I joined the club four years ago. I used to bike past Jericho everyday on my way home and look at the boats on my way past and than finally joined MAC sailing before I found out about UBC.

UBC: Any on-the-water highlights?

Duncan McHugh: Before I joined the club I was sailing on a friends boat from Anacortes to Sydney and a killer whale breached right beside us. That was another moment that made me want to sail more.

UBC: Any future sailing plans?

Duncan McHugh: I'm becoming a dad soon, but I still hope to crew for some friends at least a few times this summer.

UBC: Congratulations!!!
